A proud moment for MInTFM on Saturday 18 November 2023 when the graduation of the Cohort 2019 took place at Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. 24 graduates, from both Central and Northern Schemes, are MInTFM’s pioneer graduating batch and received their MICGP membership certificates and their Certificate of Satisfactory Completion of Specialist Training (CSCST) – awarded by the President of ICGP, Dr Eamonn Shanahan.
Guests for this event include Professor Karen Morgan – President, RUMC, Mr. Brian O’Malley – Executive Director for Training & Assessment, ICGP, Ms. Grainne Keane – Director of Finance, UCD, Dr. John Latham – previous National Clinical Director, MInTFM, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah – our previous Director General of Health, Ministry of Health Malaysia, Dr. Mohd Safiee Ismail – Director of Family Health Development Division, Ministry of Health Malaysia, and last but not least, the Irish Ambassador to Malaysia, Her Excellency Ms. Orla Tunney.
Mr. Fintan Foy – Chief Executive Officer of ICGP was the Master of Ceremony for the event and also gave a welcome introduction, and invited Dr Eamonn Shanahan – President of ICGP – to deliver his opening address, followed by Dr Cathy Cullen – National Clinical Director, MInTFM.
The awards ceremony took place with Datin Dr. Nazrila Hairizan Nasir calling out the graduate’s names with Dr. Eamonn Shanahan presenting the awards to the graduates. Dr Tom O’Callaghan – Chief Executive Officer of iHeed, after saying a few words, presented the MInTFM Excellence Award to Dr Winnie Oung Ker Chien, who achieved the highest overall mark in the MICGP Examinations and CSCST in the 12 months prior to graduation.
The event ended successfully with a formal photography session with graduates and the dignitaries.
